A summary dissolution is a very easy process designed for people without children, without real estate, and who have been married for less than five years; and who agree on the terms of the divorce. Simple Divorce can easily be obtained without the use of an attorney.

 

What does the law say about property?

The state of California is very clear. It is a community property state. All property acquired during the marriage is considered community property, owned equally by both parties. However, there are exceptions to the rule, such as gifts and inheritance.
